GUJAR KHAN, Oct 3: Two persons were shot dead on Eid day in the jurisdiction of Gujar Khan police station.

In the first incident, unknown assailants knocked on the door of Mehrban Ali’s house in Bewal town at about 9:30pm on Eid day. When an inmate, Zafar Mahmood, opened the door, they opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.

The police have registered a case on the complaint of Ms Shamim Akhtar, the mother of the victim.

In another incident, on the same night, a body of a young man, Mohammad Ikram, was reportedly found lying near Mera Shamas village. The killers shot him dead and later threw his body.

Police have registered a case on the complaint of Mohammad Latif, the victim’s father.

Gujar Khan police are clueless about the killers.

It is pertinent to mention here that Gujar Khan city and its rural areas have been a target of robbers for the last several weeks but the local police have so far failed to arrest them.
