Ban on tuition

KASUR, Sept 19: The district administration has not only imposed a ban on teachers of the District Public School to take tuitions but also cast away a proposal of raising 10 per cent monthly fee of students.

DCO Abdul Jabbar Shaheen took the decision in a meeting of the Board of Governors of the school held here. The DCO said a strict action would be taken against the teachers who were found teaching school students at academies or privately.

He said BSc classes would start from Oct 17, and Rs2.2 million would be utilised for the establishment of a science laboratory and the purchase of reference books for library. The BoG has also approved funds for the purchase of new furniture and publication of the college magazine. The DCO ordered to manage a sum of Rs600,000 from the school funds for the supply of electricity to the newly-constructed science block.

He formed finance, discipline, purchase and recruitment committee for better performance and implementation of his directions.

It is also learnt that some blue-eyed teachers are getting more than Rs20,000 monthly salary while others are being paid less than Rs10,000. Worst was the salary package of ad hoc teachers who are drawing only Rs3,500 per month.—Correspondent
