DARWIN (Australia), May 3: China will play Olympic champions Australia in the final of the four-nation field hockey tournament after a 3-1 upset victory over South Korea on Saturday.

The 17th-ranked Chinese denied the Asian Games champions passage into Sunday’s final to give their Beijing Olympic hopes a tonic with a championship decider against the Australians.

Australia, who beat Korea in last weekend’s final of the first of two four-nation tournament in Perth, remained unbeaten with a 1-0 win over India.

Yubo Na was China’s hero scoring all three goals, two in the first half and the other in the last minute. Australia’s hard-fought winner came from a penalty corner from Jamie Dwyer in the 49th minute.—AFP
