KARACHI: ‘Parties to get radio licences’

KARACHI, May 3: Sindh Minister for Information Shazia Marri has pledged all out efforts towards freedom of the press as envisaged under the Constitution.

In her message on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day, she held out the assurance that the government would extend all support and cooperation to journalists and media organisations to help them discharge their professional duties.

The minister said that the PPP would not only support the media but would also allow launching of more TV and radio channels. “Political parties will also be provided licences for FM radio stations,” she announced.

She appealed to the owners of media organisations to work for the protection and social welfare of their employees.—PPI
