Lahore summer races from Sunday
LAHORE, April 29: The Lahore Race Club (LRC) has decided to hold nine Summer Meetings during the months of May and June.
The first event takes place on May 4, and the last on June 29. Meeting races will be held on Sundays.
In a short prospectus issued for the meetings, the LRC had informed owner/trainers and their agents that horses belonging to class IV, V and VI, are eligible to take part in the meetings. Races will be held over, 1,200m, 1,100m, 1,000m, 900m and 800m, subject to the entries in these classes.
The procedure for the submission of the entries will be the same as was during the winter meetings.
The LRC has notified the distances of races to be held in the respective classes on each day for the convenience of owners/trainers.
The Summer Meetings prospectus has been approved by a stewards meeting presided over by LRC chairman, Tariq Aziz. However, it did not specify the stake-money to be awarded to the horses winning first, second and third position in each class and division. It has further been announced that the meetings will be held under floodlights.—AG
