ISLAMABAD, April 28: Wapda and Police reached the top of the All Pakistan Sargodha Citrus men’s floodlight volleyball championship points table after defeating their respective opponents in the championship’s third leg here on Monday.

Wapda, who already have two consecutive victories behind them, continued their rhythm in the day’s first match against Punjab, clinching the first set 25-16.

Wapda spikers again took the lead in the second set, which they won 25-16. The third and final set saw Wapda enhance pressure in order to take advantage of their opponents’ mistakes. The set was won 25-14.

Meanwhile, Police recorded a smooth victory against Pakistan Navy, the score being 23-25, 25-22, 25-17 and 25-19.

In the day’s third match, POF outclassed NWFP 25-21, 25-23, 20-25 and 25-22.

Six teams — Wapda, Navy, Punjab, Pakistan Ordinance Factories (POF), NWFP and Police — are contesting in the five-day event.
