Kidnapped woman recovered

DADU, April 28: Police recovered a woman, who was kidnapped from Dadu three days ago, after a raid on Panhwar village near Chhandan Nullah on Monday.
Ms Reshma Bagri told the court after police produced her in the court of second civil judge and judicial magistrate that she was kidnapped from her home in Bagri Colony by Jumo Panhwar, Ghulam Qadir, Ghulam Haider and three other armed men. They kept her in a village where they gang-raped her for three days, she said.
The court ordered the police to get her checked at the Dadu Civil Hospital and submit her medical report.
LOOTED: Bandits looted thousands of rupees cash, gold ornaments and other valuable belongings from passengers at Chowdagi near here on the Indus Highway on Monday.
In another incident, some armed men barged into the house of Muneer Ahmed Arain in Gharibabad and snatched away Rs70,000 cash and gold ornaments. In the meantime, a meeting of shopkeepers being held to protest against worsening law and order situation decided to close shops at 8pm.
OMBUDSMAN: Sindh Ombudsman Asad Ashraf Malik on Monday ordered departmental action against four government officials after they were found guilty of taking bribes.
He directed the regional director of provincial ombudsman to refer their cases to Anti-Corruption Establishment for departmental action.
