Villagers injure Hesco driver

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, April 24: Angry villagers attacked the Hesco vehicle injuring its driver near Mohbat Dero on Thursday.
Line Superintendent Kotri Kabir Feeder, Nazar Mohammad Memon, lodged an FIR at Mohbat Dero police station under section 359, 337-A(i), 427, 147, 148 PPC, stating he along with the staff was going to Ali Mohammad Khariro village in the official vehicle to restore power as directed by high ups.
He said the electricity of the village was suspended about one week back due to outstanding dues amounting to Rs284,540. He said when they reached the village, people attacked them with sticks and also pelted stones smashing windscreen of the vehicle.
Hesco driver, Arz Mohammad received injuries in the attack. The driver, however, succeeded in getting away by accelerating the vehicle. Police had registered the FIR against 15 accused.
CONTRACTORS: District Nazim Ghulam Rasool Jatoi has said the contractors who obtained contracts but have not yet started work or whose quality of work was not up to the mark will be blacklisted.
He was speaking during a meeting of the EDOs of the district at DCO Committee Room here on Thursday. He said security deposit of such contractors will also be forfeited.
The Nazim directed the EDO Revenue to accelerate recovery from the growers and remove those tapedars who failed to achieve the target instead of suspending them.
EDO Works and Services, Basheer Ahmed Shaikh informed the meeting that work on 177 road sector schemes was going on.
He said the provincial government had released an amount Rs12 million under Drought Emergency Relief Assistance programme whereas work on 114 building sector schemes was in progress. The EDO also informed that the auditorium having seating capacity of 1,000 people will be completed this year.
DCO Zulfiqar Ali Shah, EDO health Ahmed Bux Bhutto, EDO revenue Manzoor Ali Soomro, EDO agriculture Saleem Vistro and other EDOs were present on the occasion.
