NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, April 23: A gang of bandits, who had kidnapped Akram Rajput and Irshad Lashari when they were working in a field near Khan Wahan village on Sunday night, let go Lashari near Gambat on Tuesday night with a message for Rajput’s relatives.

Mr Lashari told journalists after reaching his Bab Yaqoob village that five bandits had kidnapped him and Rajput and took them away blindfolded in a car.

He said that on Tuesday the kidnappers said to him that as he was very poor, they were going to release him. Then they gave him Rs100 for transport fare and a letter for the relatives of Rajput asking them to bring Rs2 million ransom without mentioning the name to whom the ransom was to be paid and the place.

Sources said that the police were now pressuring the released man to give a statement that police had got him released after an encounter with kidnappers but he had not yet given such a statement.

Mehrabpur police on Tuesday night arrested grandfather and uncle of Irshad Lashari, Daim and Bakhsal respectively. The SHO was not available for comments and head constable Mohammad Hassan Kondher said that Daim and Bakhshal were not in police lockup. DPO, Zulfiqar Ali Larik, too, was also not available for comments.
