RAWALPINDI, April 22: The Anti-Narcotics Force on Tuesday seized 35kg heroin concealed in carpets which were to be exported to Tashkent for an international trade exhibition.

Regional Director ANF Brigadier Asif Ali also confirmed the arrest of four persons whom he described as front men.

He said the heroin was concealed in 12 pieces of carpets which were to be sent to Tashkent by a chartered flight on Monday night.

The authorities said the seizure of the heroin was made by the ANF staff after they started checking of export goods lying at Shaheen cargo.

The international trade exhibition is scheduled to be held in the current month.—Staff Reporter
