FAISALABAD, April 21: Robbers shot dead two sisters on Monday at Gulshan-i-Hayat in Jhang Bazaar police precincts.

Reports said three masked dacoits barged in the house of Hayat in broad daylight and held the women hostage at gunpoint. The accused were looting gold ornaments when one Ayesha identified a robber and put up resistance. As a result, the dacoits opened fire, killing Ayesha and her sister Naseem on the spot.

The accused were about to escape when area people caught them and informed the police.

Jhang Bazaar police took three dacoits -- Adil Ahmed, Imran and Imran Husain – into custody.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Adil Ahmed was a relative of the deceased women.

Police have registered a case and seized weapons and looted articles from the robbers.
