LAHORE, April 21: Jamaat-i-Islami amir Qazi Husain Ahmad has said the nation does not accept decisions of the Supreme Court established by a dictator.

Commenting on the Supreme Court’s decision of doing away with the BA condition for contesting general elections, he cautioned the ruling coalition that verdicts of the present apex court judges would become controversial after restoration of deposed members of the judiciary.

He demanded the coalition instead of using the present apex court for watching its interests should restore the Constitution in its original form by deleting the amendments made by the army ruler.

He recalled the MMA had demanded abolition of the condition but it was retained because the government wanted to use it against the religious parties.

He said had the condition been abolished then, it would have added to the prestige of the court.
