ABBOTTABAD: ‘Judges to be restored according to Murree Accord’

By Rashid Javed

ABBOTTABAD, April 21: Federal Minister for Railways Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan hoped that the deposed judges would be restored according to the Murree Accord inked between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP-P).

The minister said this while addressing PML-N workers and party office-bearers at the inauguration ceremony of the party’s local secretariat here on Monday.

Sardar Mehtab hoped that things would go in the right direction. He, however, cited that some “hidden forces” were trying to destabilise the democratic government.

About the PPP-P and MQM negotiations, Mehtab said no body can deny the political role of the MQM and if the PPP-P joined hands with it in the province of Sindh, they have every right to hold negotiations in the best national interest and to bring the country out of the ongoing crisis.

The minister hoped that flour crisis would end shortly as imported wheat has started arriving and the local crops would also be in the market within few days. However, he pointed out that efforts would be made to stop the wheat smuggling to Afghanistan, adding that federal as well as NWFP governments should take necessary steps to check the hoarding and smuggling of the commodity.

Sardar Mehtab also met a number of delegates from different parts of the Hazara region and took on the spot decisions on people’s complaints.

The developmental plan, he said, has been prepared for the uplift of the Hazara division for which he asked the PML-N workers and office-bearers to come out with a solid proposal so that the miseries of the general public should be minimised.
