KARAK, April 21: As a nation we must recognise our obligations and devise future line of action in the light of past mistakes, said Provincial Minister for Prisons Mian Nisar Gul.
He was speaking as a chief guest at a ceremony on the occasion of the parents’ day of the Khyber School, at Ghundi Mir Khankhel on Monday.
The minister said that he made surprise visits to government schools, hospitals and revenue offices few days ago and was astonished to find that the officials were absent from their duties.
Mr Gul said that only buildings of schools, hospitals and Patwarakhanas were not enough but the presence of the officials concerned in these institutions was vital to solve the problems of the masses. He warned the officials of strict action if they were found absent from their duties without any genuine reason.
Regarding the ongoing flour crisis, Mr Gul said that 165 bags of flour were being provided to each union council of the district on daily basis and that he would talk to the minister for food to increase the quota. He also urged the distributors of flour to distribute the commodity judiciously at this critical time.
He announced special quota of flour for religious seminaries, saying that flour bags would be provided to the religious students at their doorstep.
