SIALKOT, April 17: Police conducted the identification parade of the two alleged Taliban terrorists amid tight security on Thursday.

Intelligence agencies also interrogated the activists who have been lodged at an undisclosed location, Dawn has learnt.

On Wednesday, Senior Civil Judge Abu Bakar Sadique ordered police to conduct the identification process of the alleged Taliban terrorists.

DPO Muhammad Ameen said the accused -- Muaaz Umer (Quetta) and Asim Khan (North Nazimabad, Karachi) -- had links with the Afghanistan-based Taliban.

In the preliminary interrogation, the accused also confessed to their involvement in terrorism activities in Wana and Hilmand (Afghanistan). The accused were also involved in kidnapping Shia clerics from Pakistan and killing them after shifting them to Afghanistan.

The DPO claimed the accused had planned sectarian violence in Sialkot. — Correspondent
