19 teams to vie for honours in NFCC


LAHORE, April 15: Nineteen teams will take part in the National Football Challenge Cup (NFCC) from May 1 to 15 in Karachi.

The event has been revived after three years on the instructions of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) President Faisal Saleh Hayat.

The draws ceremony of the event will be held at the FIFA House here on Sunday. The PFF has asked managers of the teams to attend the ceremony.

Following teams will take part in the draws: Wapda, Khan Research Laboratories, Army, Karachi Port Trust, National Bank, Higher Education Commission, Air Force, Pakistan Ordnance Factory, Railways, Navy, Public Works Department, Sui Southern Gas Company, Habib Bank, Pak Elektron Limited, PTV, Pakistan Steel, KESC, PIA and Police.

“The event will help us in discovering fresh talent to build up our national team for the upcoming SAFF Championship in Maldives and Sri Lanka,” PFF President Faisal Saleh Hayat said.—APP
