MITHI, April 15: The district and session judge, Tharparkar, granted interim pre-arrest bail to 222 supporters of former Sindh chief minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim here on Tuesday.

They were booked in five different FIRs lodged against them at various police stations. They are accused of holding protest rallies against manhandling of Arbab Rahim in Sindh Assembly.

Meanwhile, 13 other supporters of Arbab, kept in judicial lockup in Mithi for the last two weeks, were freed on orders of the court.

The district and session judge also granted interim bail before arrest to accused Abdul Aziz 52, booked by the police for his alleged participation in protest rally in Mithi.

The accused, a cancer patient, was brought to the court in an ambulance.
