48 deportees arrive at airport

RAWALPINDI, April 15: A batch of 48 illegal Pakistani immigrants deported from Turkey arrived at the Islamabad Airport on Tuesday, official sources said.

A senior official of the Federal Investigation Agency (passport cell) said the deportees came by PIA flight PK-762 on Tuesday night.

Later, they were handed over to the FIA passport cell for further investigation. He said among them 47 deportees were from Gujranwala district, while one was from Rawalpindi.

POLICE OFFICERS RESHUFFLED: Two superintendents of police were reshuffled here on Tuesday, an official source said.

Deputy Superintendent Police Rana Shahid has been promoted to the rank of superintendent of police (SP) and posted in the Investigation Wing.

Earlier, he was working as DSP Cantonment Circle. SP Tahir Ayub who was working in the Investigation Wing has been transferred to the Headquarters Rawalpindi. Post of the SP Headquarters had been lying vacant since retirement of Chaudhry Suleman.
