PARACHINAR, April 13: At least seven persons were killed and 20 others wounded in the ongoing fighting in Kurram tribal region on Monday.

According to sources a shell hit Ibrahim Zai village which resulted in the killing of two persons. Ten other residents of the area received injuries in the incident. Heavy exchange of fire continued between the residents of Khar Kali and Balishkhel villages.

Hospital sources said that five people were killed and 10 others sustained injuries in the overnight clashes in the area. Sporadic clashes had been reported from several parts of the Upper Kurram.

The sources said that elders of both the groups had agreed on a ceasefire by 5pm on Sunday after holding negotiations with regional coordination officer, Kohat, Umar Afridi in Parachinar and Sadda.
