DERA GHAZI KHAN, April 9: Litigants are facing delay in getting justice as three posts of additional sessions judges have been lying vacant for the last several months, Dawn has learnt.

There are five posts of additional sessions court judges in the district and now only two courts are bearing the burden of three vacant courts.

Two cause lists, each containing 80 cases, are issued every day by two functioning courts.

Most of the cases on the cause list remains unheard and thus are deferred until other dates, said one of the litigant seeking anonymity.

He said the hearing of one case took at least one hour and one could imagine how much work burden the two judges might be facing.

Sources told Dawn that despite demands by the authority regarding the appointment of three additional judges, the posts were still lying vacant.

Scores of litigants demanded functioning of three courts of additional judges.
