By Our Correspondent

KHAIRPUR, April 9: The PML-F activists, Nazims, and councillors are being harassed by police, said Khairpur Dost Panel (KDP) members in the district council meeting on Wednesday.

The PPP-backed ADP members, including Bashar Farooqui, Nazeer Hisbani, Zeenat Shaikh, Abdul Qadir Veesar and others informed the house that their nazims were implicated in fake cases during last five years. They further revealed that even the caretaker setup did not hesitate in booking the ADP Nazims, councillors and PPP workers in hundreds of sham cases.

The Khairpur Dost Panel (KDP) members, including Nazim Begum Rana Shah expressed their surprise over transfers and postings being ordered by the chief secretary despite a ban.

The KDP members complained of the shortage of gunny bags saying thrashing of wheat crop had begun but farmers were encountering hardships in Khiarpur district on account of it. They also expressed astonishment over the failure to set up wheat procurement centres in the district.

Though Khairpur was the home of the Sindh chief minister and PPP MNAs but high-ups of ruling class were engaged in victimization process of which the CM should take notice, emphasised the KDP members. They further complained of sugar mills of not making payment to farmers but to agents and middlemen thus inflicting loss to former.

They also criticized the rising fertilizers prices as it was now impossible for farmers to buy it.

Later Khairpur District Nazim Pir Niaz Hussain Shah along with the KDP members holding a press conference said that they would boldly face political victimization.
