QUETTA, April 4: The employees action committee of the Sui Southern Gas Company, Balochistan, has appealed to Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani and co-chairman of the PPP Asif Ali Zardari to direct the SSGC management to implement the orders of the Sindh High Court and the Services Tribunal to reinstate sacked employees.

Chairman of the committee, Haji Muhammad Arif Baloch, said at a press conference here on Thursday that the PPP government in 1994-96 had recruited youths from Balochistan in the SSGC, but following the dismissal of the government they were sacked by the SSGC management.

Haji Muhammad Arif Baloch said that the Sindh High Court in 1998 and Services Tribunal in 2003 had ordered reinstatement of the employees but the SSGC management did not honour the verdict and filed an appeal which was still pending in the Supreme Court.

He said that the prime minister had announced in the National Assembly that the government would review the cases of sacked employees recruited by the previous PPP government.
