KARACHI, April 3: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has cancelled the results of 15 candidates on the charges of impersonation in their Intermediate supplementary examinations-2007.

The board has also punished another nine candidates, who appeared in the same examinations, by canceling their papers in which they were found guilty of using unfair means, such as copying material or taking away the answer scripts.

Giving details of the punishment, sources in the BIEK said that out of the total 15 cases in which results were cancelled for impersonation, six candidates were caught at the examination centre set up in the Shipowners’ College and another five at the centre set up in the Govt Degree College, Quaidabad. Two candidates each were caught at the centres set up in the Govt Degree Boys College, Gulistan-i-Jauhar and the S. M. Govt Science College, Shahrah-i-Iraq.

With regard to some candidates having taken away the answer scripts, the sources said that five candidates — two male and three female — were involved. Two such cases were detected at the centre set up in the Govt College for Women, Block 16, Federal B Area and one each at the centres set up in the Jinnah Govt College, the Govt Superior Commerce College, the Govt Degree Science College, Malir and the Sir Syed Govt Girls College, Nazimabad.
