US policy towards Iran rapped

Published April 3, 2008

LAHORE, April 2: Writer and scholar David Barsamian slammed the US foreign policy towards Iran and likened the American government to a neighbourhood Mafioso in a lecture entitled “Targeting Iran: Imperialism the Next Phase” at Foreman Christian College University here on Wednesday.

Mr Barsamian, the author of several books, including The Decline and Fall of Public Broadcasting, Eqbal Ahmad: Confronting Empire and Propaganda and the Public Mind: Conversations with Noam Chomsky, said Iranians across the political spectrum would unite and resist all attempts at occupation.

He said Pakistan would also be gravely threatened by any war in Iran as its entire western border would be a conflict region. Pakistan must de-link itself from US imperialistic aims in order to progress as a sovereign nation.
