Tension as four victims of clash buried

SUKKUR, April 1: The four people killed in an armed clash between Bozdar and Gadani tribesmen on Monday were buried in Mirpur Mathelo on Tuesday.

Farhan Bozdar, his brother Farman Bozdar along with Sikander Bozdar and Ehsan Gadani were buried under tight security of police and tribesmen. Panic and harassment was visible during burial.

As fresh measures, police established pickets in the area to prevent bloody clash between the two tribes.

Trade activities and public transport remained suspended in Garhi Chakar, Jarwar and other areas of Taluka Mirpur Mathelo district Ghotki.

Sultan Gadani uncle of deceased Ehsan Gadani lodged an FIR against 15 Bozdar tribesmen including Bangul, Wahid, Laloo, Jamal, Sikki Ladho, Hashim, Islam, Qamar

Din and others at Mirpur Mathelo police station but no one was arrested.

On Monday due to old enmity between Gadanis and Bozdars, an exchange of fire took place near Khanpur Mahar in which Farhan s/o Haji More, Farman Bozdar 18, and Sikander s/o Allah Warayo Bozdar 55, were attacked while going to Cattle Market. They died on the spot due to indiscriminate firing while Mukhtiar Bozdar was critically injured and taken to Rahim Yar Khan Hospital.

The incident panicked the Bozdar community and in retaliation a group of armed men shot dead Ehsan s/o Mohammad Nawaz Gadani and one unidentified man.

PROTEST: Angry mob burnt tyres and suspended traffic on National Highway near Ghotki after snatching of tractor by a group of bandits from near the bypass on late Monday night.

Protesters warned of continued protest till the recovery of tractor.
