KARACHI, March 22: Sindh Minister for Women Development Nadira Panjwani has urged civil society to encourage the practice of adopting orphans and abandoned children.

She was speaking during her visit to the “SOS village” along with the Secretary of her department Subhan Memon.

The minister eulogised the services being rendered by the management and officials of the SOS Village in taking care and providing relief and affection to the orphans living at the institution, and said that level of understanding should come from the top as “every child needs love, care and affection.”

Ms Zahida Hashmi, Director In-charge, and Ms Neelo Hameed, Secretary of the SOS Villages, Sindh, told her that there were 174 children living in 15 homes being managed by the institution.—PPI
