KARACHI: Graffiti banned

Published March 10, 2008

KARACHI, March 9: City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal on Sunday banned graffiti within the limits of City District Government Karachi with immediate effect for a period of seven days.

Mr Kamal imposed the ban while taking notice of nuisance caused by the menace of graffiti aimed at creating hatred amongst different sects and religious groups. Observing that it is necessary to take immediate measures to check and discourage the increasing trend of graffiti on walls and public places, the nazim in exercise of powers vested in him under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) prohibited graffiti with immediate effect for a period of seven days within the limits of City District Government of Karachi.
