LAHORE, Feb 15: Unidentified criminals tortured and strangled a father of two and threw his body in the open in Baghbanpura on Friday, police said.

Forty-five-year-old Jamal Din, a resident of Saqib Road in North Cantonment, left his house on Thursday night, but did not return. An unidentified caller informed the police about a sack lying near Mahmood Booti on Friday morning.

Police reached the scene and recovered Din’s body from the sack with a rope around his neck and sent it for an autopsy. His hands and legs were tied with a rope and his body had torture marks, the police investigation revealed.—Staff Reporter
