Separately, Capital City Police Officer Malik Muhammad Iqbal directed divisional superintendents of police to launch a crackdown on people dealing in fireworks and those involved in aerial firing, kite flying and making of lethal kite string.

According to a circular issued here, Iqbal said all divisional superintendents would be responsible for implementing these orders in letter and spirit. He said action would be taken against station house officers and explanation would be sought from supervisory police officers if any such incident was reported in their areas. — Staff Reporter
