KHAIRPUR, Jan 30: Police booked eight people in two different cases lodged at Ranipur police station and Daraza Sharif on the complaint of an officer-bearer of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional on Tuesday evening. Zahid Hussain Farooqui lidged the first FIR at Daraza police station against Mian Naveed Farooqui, Mian Majid Farooqui, Mian Qamar Farooqui, Mian Naeem Farooqui, Nomi Farooqui and Mian Inayat Farooqui.

He filed the other FIR at Ranipur police station the same day under section 324, 504 and 34 PPC under section 506/2, 427, 452, 504, 147, 148 PPC.

Zahid who is general secretary of PML-F, Daraza Sharif unit, alleged that the accused issued threats and attacked his house after he opened PML-F office in Daraza.

Former Khairpur district nazim Nafisa Shah, PPP candidate for PS-34, Naeem Kharal and Mian Naseeruddin Farooqui, ADP nazim of UC Gambat, said that PPP opponents had torn up party flags and banners in Daraza Sharifm while party workers and supporters were being harassed by police.

They said that Qamaruddin Farooqui, who was nominated in a case lodged by PML-F worker in Ranipur, was regional director of colleges of Sukkur region.
