Islamabad denies claim
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani government claimed on Saturday that Nicholas Schmidle had not been deported and had left the country of his own volition.
An information ministry official said Mr Schmidle did not have a journalist’s visa. “Initially a deportation order was served to him but it was later withdrawn. He left Pakistan on his own,” he added.—Reuters
