ISLAMABAD, Jan 12: Senior Leader of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday said that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was playing province card to achieve his nefarious designs.

Addressing a Press Conference here at PML-N Secretariat on Saturday, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that the King Party wants to create differences among provinces.

Expressing reservations over holding of free and fair elections, Senior Leader of PML-N said that a plan to rig Elections 2008 has been finalised. He said that nothing concrete had been done to hold free and fair elections by President Pervez Musharraf.

He said they had provided all proofs of rigging in upcoming elections to a delegation of the European Union. The resignation of President Pervez Musharraf is the solution of all the problems and there is urgent need of national government, he added.

He said that the workers of PML-N were being pressurised to change their loyalties, adding that due to interference of the Court, the bulldozing of houses of PML-N workers were stopped.

He claimed that the government wanted to further delay the general election. He said pretext of formation of a government of national unity could be used for the purpose. PML-N would not become part of any such government under President Pervez Musharraf, he said.

Chaudhry Nisar denied reports of back channel contacts between PML-N chief Shahbaz Sharif and the president’s camp. He said there was no change in PML-N stand against having any such contacts.

He alleged flaws in electoral rolls and handed over to reporters some papers about claimed fake entries in the lists pertaining to his constituency NA-52 in Rawalpindi district.

PML-N leader said, “I have contested several elections but I have not seen such kind of voter lists.”

He said the lists provided to him did not bear the official stamp of the Election Commission and alleged that there some “ghost polling stations” in two constituencies from where he is contesting the election.

Chaudhry Nisar said the government “do not want to see me in the next National Assembly.”

He said PML-N had briefed the European Union team about the alleged rigging plan of the government. “I will arrange visit of observers and media persons to my constituencies to see that some polling stations exist only on papers at the Election Commission,” he added.—Agencies
