CJ discusses security with LHCBA

Published January 13, 2008

LAHORE, Jan 12: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Sayed Zahid Husain on Saturday alongwith LHCBA office-bearers inspected security arrangements in and outside the court’s building in the wake of Thursday’s incident.

After discussing several proposals, they agreed to mark the main gate of the LHC on The Mall for the entry of litigants and the court’s officials. It was also decided that the gate on Turner Road would be used exclusively for exit. However, lawyers could enter and leave the building from the gate on Fane Road.

It was further decided that the visitors would be thoroughly searched before their entry into the premises.

The chief justice also directed security personnel to strictly implement the ban on carrying arms inside the court premises.

The bar representatives requested the CJ to allot an empty plot adjacent to Shah Chiragh Din Building for parking.

The chief justice asked them to submit a written proposal in this regard. —Reporter
