HYDERABAD: She won last elections with huge margin

By Our Correspondent

HYDERABAD, Dec 27: The assassinated PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto contested last general elections of her life from Hyderabad district before going into exile. She didn’t contest elections in 2002 while she was living in exile. It was in 1997 when she contested elections from NA-171 Hyderabad district.

This constituency was relocated into NA-223, now a separate district of Tando Allahyar, which was then a taluka of Hyderabad. She contested from this seat after she apparently faced a threat to her constituency in Larkana following the death of Mir Murtaza Bhutto.

She had won from NA-171 with a big margin, beating Allah Bux Magsi, the father of incumbent district nazim of Tando Allahyar Dr Rahila Magsi.
