PML-N men resign over party tickets

By Our Correspondent

NAROWAL, Dec 20: District office-bearers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have resigned in protest against the alleged distribution of party tickets to those who had been working for the erstwhile ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Q.

PML-N’s Narowal President Muhammad Akbar Khan told a press conference here the party leadership did not consult its district office-bearers before awarding tickets for the Jan 8 elections. He alleged that tickets had been given to people who supported and worked for the PML-Q instead of “true party workers and office-bearers” who stood by Nawaz Sharif and faced the government’s wrath for eight years. He said no office-bearer would participate in the PML-N’s election campaign.

Besides Khan, local office-bearers Chaudhry Munir Afzal, Noor Ahmed Sindhu, Rana Muhammad Ayub, Muhammad Rafique, Rana Iftikhar Ahmed, Ibrahim Goraya, Chaudhry Shakeel Humayoun, Khan Mushtaq Ahmed, Aslam Saleem Boti, Javaid Qamar and Muhammad Asif Khan also resigned from their offices.
