By Our Correspondent

GUJRANWALA, Dec 12: Two people who were kidnapped for ransom from a village of Wazirabad about two days ago secured their release after payment on Wednesday.

Reports said Muhammad Azmat and his cousin Muhammad Amin of Vanjowali were on their way after attending a marriage party by a car. Near the village, some armed men posing as police officials intercepted them, kidnapped them and took them to Sodara Town.

The captors demanded Rs1 million ransom and released them after payment of Rs300,000. The heirs paid Rs150,000 in cash and 12-tola gold jewellery.
