Football camp for girls in Kashmir

By Tariq Naqash

MUZAFFARABAD, Dec 4: A group of young Kashmiri girls practiced the basic manoeuvres of football at a day-long coaching clinic under the guidance of the German coach Monika Staab.

The event, which took place at the K.H. Khurshid Stadium, was sponsored by Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) under its ‘Football for Hope’ banner aimed at rebuilding hope and enthusiasm in the traumatised area through the sport of football.

According to FIFA’s Asian Development Officer Syed Mohsen Gilani, the federation is holding such camps for girls after taking notice of the fact that there is lack of female football coaches for women in Pakistan.
