HYDERABAD, Dec 3: Residents of Jurial Shah colony of Tando Mir Mehmood, Latifabad, staged a sit-in outside the press club here on Monday to protest against SSGC failure to ensure proper gas supply to the colony.

They carried placards inscribed with slogans against the Sui Southern Gas Company officials. Angry protesters, most of them old women, raised slogans against the SSGC for not ensuring adequate supply of gas to their houses.

In some cases, they said, gas connections had been disconnected although the consumers regularly paid bills.

The protesters said that some bangle factories located in their area were getting gas supply at the cost of the domestic consumers. “The factories pilfer gas while we suffer despite paying bills”, said Afzal Khan who was leading the protest.

A woman, Bholi, while waiving a bunch of gas bills, said that they were regularly paying bills yet they were not getting gas supply.
