KARACHI, Nov 15: A ten-member Pakistan squad will take part in the Asian Shooting Championship scheduled to be held in Kuwait from Dec 3 to 12, the National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) announced on Thursday.
The Pakistan shooters will participate in the individual and team skeet events, individual Trap and Rifle three positions contest, Executive Vice President NRAP Razi Ahmed Khan said.
National skeet team will comprise of double Olympian Khurram Inam, Amin Karamat and Raza Munir. Usman Sadiq will figure in the Trap individual event and new national record holder Mohammad Siddique in rifle three position event.
Junior shooters like Hamza Amin and Ahmed Usman will compete in skeet event. Secretary NRAP Khalid Javed and Col Abbas Raza will act as member of the jury in the Asian competition.
The Asian event will be held at Kuwait’s most modern range and three quota places in skeet and two in trap will be up for grabs for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Razi said shooters achieving Minimum Qualifying Scores (MQS) for Olympics would be considered for quota places. –APP
