MIRPURKHAS, Nov 14: The Mirpurkhas district council through different resolutions demanded of the government to establish a handicraft centre at Jhuddo, provide vaccines under the EPI programme in taluka hospital Jhuddo and blacklist the contractors of public health engineering department who were using substandard material.

The meeting, chaired by District Naib Nazim Zafar Ahmed Kamali, was held here on Wednesday.

Mirpurkhas district officer revenue Mustafa Jamal Qazi, while briefing the members, said that revenue record of taluka Mirpurkhas was being computerised under a pilot project to facilitate abadgars.

He said that villagers should get ownership rights under the Goth Abad scheme who were residing in villages situated on the government land.

He admitted that some revenue officials had been appointed after political pressure and the department finds it difficult to take action against them.

He assured that legal action would be taken against revenue officials after they receive complaints in writing.

He said that compensation and alternative land for construction of houses had been provided to the affected people of historical place, Kahu Jo Daro.

The district council also approved two filter plants scheme of Rs0.9 million for providing clean water to the civil hospital Mirpurkhas.

Zafar Leghari advocate claimed that revenue officers were receiving bribes for issuance of solvency documents, Form II, clearance certificate and etc.

Mir Zafarullah Talpur, Nawab Khaskheli, Ali Mardan Shah and others said that system of offices of Mukhtiarkars should improve after computerisation of revenue records.
