AKU events conclude


KARACHI, Nov 12: The AKU Sports Centre’s 4th All Karachi Inter-School Throwball title was won by Muhammadi Girls Secondary School after an exciting game with Convent of Jesus & Mary (Sr Girls) on Sunday.

The scores were: 15-5, 6-15, 15-4, 9-15, 15-13.

A good performance was shown by Atifa Darab and Yasmeen Mir for the winning team while Shadab Gul performed well on behalf of the losers.

Meanwhile, the City School (PAF Chapter Campus) clinched the AKU basketball title after beating The City School (Gulshan Campus) in a well-contested match by 60 points to 50.

Raja Jahanzeb (22 pts) and Faraz Butt (13 pts) played well for the winning side while Bilal Khan Sr (26 pts) and Waqas Khan (11 pts) were the main scorer for the losing team.

Pakistan’s legendary squash star Jahangir Khan who is currently the president of World Squash Federation flanked by Navroz Surani, Director Human Resources AKU were the guest of honours and presented the throwball trophy to Samina Jabeen, captain of Muhammadi Girls School and runner-up’s trophy to Convent of Jesus & Mary captain Maeda Zia.—Agencies
