LAHORE, Oct 26: Pakistan Muslim League President Shujaat Husain says the party will take a decision on its candidate for the office of the prime minister only after the party wins majority seats in the upcoming general elections and no decision is taken as yet.

Clarifying a statement attributed to his brother, Wajahat Husain, on Friday, the PML president said the reported version did not reflect the party’s stance on the issue.

Wajahat was quoted as saying that Pervaiz Elahi will be the party’s candidate for the office of the prime minister, and the party’s electioneering campaign will also be led by him as Shaukat Aziz was not capable of doing the job.

Mr Shujaat and Mr Aziz are due to call on Pir Sahib of Pagaro Sharif in Karachi on Saturday (today) to discuss with him the current political situation. —Political Correspondent
