KARACHI: Water shortage

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 26: Over 1,000 houses in Jutland Lines have been without water for the last one month and the affected residents are forced to consume subsoil water supplied through private tankers at exorbitant rates.

According to the area people, water supply to their locality, which falls under the jurisdiction of Jamshed Town Union Council-8, has been suspended since 13th Ramazan. Despite lodging a number of complaints with the relevant authorities including the executive engineer and the CDGK’s complaint centre 1339, no action had been taken so far, they deplored.

They urged the authorities to direct the officials concerned to restore their supply without any further delay as in the absence of piped water they had no choice but to consume sub-soil unhygienic water at the cost of their health.
