Sherpao explains failure of jammers

ISLAMABAD, Oct 23: Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said on Tuesday that reconciliation efforts would be extended to Waziristan but tribesmen must avoid militancy against security forces and must not allow foreigners to fuel hatred.

Talking to a TV channel about the Oct 18 Karachi explosions, he said several evidences had made it clear that they were suicide blasts.

Two jammers were fixed at the rear and front portions of the truck of Ms Benazir Bhutto. Jammers work only at certain angle (of height).

The people were standing above the certain height that

is why jammers failed and mobile phones were working, he said.

Suicide bombers are trained in Waziristan under the patronage of Baitullah Mehsood and others, he concluded.—APP
