QUETTA, Oct 23: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that the National Reconciliation Ordinance aimed to promote clean politics and a conducive atmosphere for election.

Talking to newsmen after addressing a public meeting in Sanni Shoran area of the Bolan district on Tuesday, he said that governments in the 90s indulged in politics of revenge and acted against each other.He said the NRO was not meaning for one party, it would also apply to others.

Replying to a question, the prime minister said that investigation into the

Karachi carnage was moving in right direction and there was no need for inviting foreign experts.

He said the government was considering a code of conduct for political activities and it would also address the issue of security.

He said that for averting Karachi-like incidents in future, security plans would be strictly implemented in cooperation with political parties.

“All political parties would be consulted for evolving a security strategy for public meetings during the election campaign,” he said.

He said that the government wanted peace and order in the country and in this connection Balochistan had been converted into the “A” area.

Shoran, the native village of federal minister Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind, the prime minister said that Pakistan was created by the Muslim

League and it would protect it in future and would not allow anyone to harm it.

The prime minister announced reconstruction of the Bolan dam which was washed away in the 1976 flood and said that Rs460 million had been approved for the project.

He announced Rs170 million for providing gas to various areas of Bolan and Sanni Shoran and said that a new grid station had also been approved for Sanni Shoran.

Mr Aziz also announced a development package of Rs30 million for Bolan district and said that 300 people would be inducted in police from the district.
