KARACHI, Oct 4: Nine ships carrying containers and to load cement, clinker and ethanol are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where three ships, Kapitan Byankin to unload and load containers, Stolt Protector and Akaki, oil tankers were berthed.

The ships which departed included APL Amman, Bunga Terasek, A. Dargon, Thor Jupiter and Caribbean Carrier, while Zenovia, Wan Hai-305, Akaki, Corin Thaikos and Hyderabad are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.165m tons comprising 23,880 tons of export cargo and 0.142m tons of import tonnage including about 74,000 tons of liquid tonnage was handled on Thursday.

The following ships are due on Friday: Golden Accord and Chem Rose to load ethanol, Dcspina with jet oil, Calvin P. Titus, Augusta, Conti Esperance with containers, Red Sea Spirit to load 16,5000 tons of cement, Ocean Frontier to load 30,000 tons of clinkers and Thor Falcon with project cargo.
