BHC acquits Akhtar

QUETTA, Sept 25: A single-judge bench of the Balochistan High Court on Tuesday acquitted former chief minister and chief of Balochistan National Party (Mengal), Sardar Akhtar Mengal, in a treason case.

Disposing of the application, Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai quashed the FIR and acquitted the applicant.

The court accepted the applicant’s plea for quashing the FIR registered against him at the Civil Lines police station on April 2, last year.—Correspondent
