KUJ condemns ‘abduction’

KARACHI, Sept 19: The Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) on Wednesday condemned the ‘abduction’ and illegal detention of DawnNews TV correspondent Babar Hussain allegedly by intelligence agencies, and termed it a serious threat to freedom of the press and a breach of fundamental rights.

Expressing grave concern, the KUJ demanded swift action against those responsible for the illegal act. It urged all unions of journalists to express their strong resolve against such ‘uncivilised and barbaric acts’.—Reporter
