CSA to send security team

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, Sept 5: A two-member security delegation from Cricket South Africa (CSA) is to visit Lahore from Sept 13 to 16 for a briefing over the security arrangements being made here in preparation of South Africa’s tour of Pakistan later this month.

South Africa’s decision to review the security arrangements is being met with an element of surprise, since they had already confirmed the tour after the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) changing of venues from Peshawar and Rawalpindi to two other cities said to be located in a dangerous zone. But the board had taken the decision due to a lack of facilities in the two cities.

While not disclosing their schedule, PCB Chief Operating Officer (COO) Shafqat Naghmi told reporters on Wednesday that the delegation comprises Goolam Rajah and Sean Michael.

The South Africans, who are due to play two Tests and five One-day Internationals, are expected to arrive in Karachi on Sept 26.
