LAHORE, Sept 5: The national selection committee has added off-spinner Atif Maqbool to the Pakistan ‘A’ squad for the second one-dayer against Australia ‘A’ to be played in Sheikhupura on Friday.
Chief selector Salahuddin Ahmed said the inclusion of Atif meant that the home side will pick its XI from a squad of 17 players.
“We decided to include Atif Maqbool to further strengthen our spin department as it created problems for the Australians in the first one-day in Lahore,” said the chief selector.
Meanwhile, Australian Test leg-spinner Stuart MacGill, who was due to join the touring side on Wednesday, will now arrive on Friday.—Sports Correspondent
